Death of an Interconnect

I was interviewed yesterday about my reaction to the news that Intel is discontinuing development of the next generation of OmniPath.  I was shocked to hear that they canceled the project, but like many others over the years, they lost to market leader Mellanox. Every company I have seen attempt to compete in the high speed interconnect market has folded within 5-years, so I was not surprised.  To read the full article including my comments you can check it out here.
